Taking the high road. How often has this
advice been given to each of us when encountering an ordeal that would
negatively impact the situation if we chose to do the lesser? We all know these
words have literal meaning..e.g., as in driving, walking, or running, up on the
high road. Metaphorically, the meaning
gravitates to our actions, our character, and our integrity, our
self-discipline when challenged with a negative issue or circumstance. Let’s
talk.
Unfortunately, we all find ourselves from
time-to-time faced with the dilemma that is to the contrary of positive
development: closing business deals, building wealth, bridging gaps in
relationships only to have your actions being misunderstood, and so much more.
At first, we will always want to revert to traditional conditioning (old and lesser behavior patterns) when challenged with less than favorable situations. In my coaching practice, I have termed this as “LVEC” (Lower Vibrating Energy Challenges).
An example of this would be found in the following scenario: The arrival of the monthly banking statement. Hark! An error in deposits has been noted. A call to the bank elicits help from no one. At this juncture, which way do we go? What road will be chosen to handle this matter?
By going deep within ourselves, we can choose a higher conscious awareness. We can ask our Higher Selves if we truly need to deal with the situation at this moment. Is the likelihood of a negative outcome possible if we choose to deal with the matter at that moment? If yes, why? Can this matter be placed on our calendars to address at a later date?
Before even attempting to reconcile the matter here is something that can be practiced, energetically, we can create a vision and hold a space for the matter to get worked out easily for the highest and best good overall. Being consciously “aware” impacts everything on a variety of levels.
Personally speaking, since practicing the principles that I teach others in my life coaching programs, my life has gotten simpler and it flows with grace and ease. Opportunities and doors have opened up to me in ways unimaginable.
How we view challenges and moreso, how we choose to handle these challenges reflect in every facet of our lives. The one thing we will always have control over is – our choices. Choose the high road.
